Troubleshooting
Why didn’t an alert arrive?
Section titled “Why didn’t an alert arrive?”Go through the list from top to bottom. Usually it’s one of the first points.
- Is the chain active? Under “My chains” it must say “active”. “draft” and “paused” don’t notify you. If it says “paused · plan limit”, your plan currently allows no more active chains.
- Are the changes live? If it says “changes not live”, the old version is still running. Click Apply.
- Was there a switch? A chain only notifies you when its condition switches from false to true. If it was already true when you activated it, it waits for the next switch. The test shows when it would last have fired.
- Is the action resting? After an alert every action rests for its cooldown (“At most every … hours”, 4 hours by default). A Cooldown node in the chain makes that longer.
- Is the channel connected? If Telegram or a push device is missing, “My chains” shows a note with “Connect”. Emails only go to confirmed addresses.
- Is something muted? “🔕 4 h” under a Telegram message, “Mute for 4 h” in an email and
/mutein the bot hold messages back./statusshows whether something is muted right now. - Is the daily limit reached? Depending on the plan it’s 100 to 5,000 alerts per day, counted in your time zone. See Daily limits.
The message doesn’t arrive
Section titled “The message doesn’t arrive”Send a test message with Send test under Notifications. If it arrives, the cause is in the chain (above), otherwise in the channel:
- Push on the Mac: System Settings → Notifications → your browser → allow notifications. An active Focus holds notifications back.
- Push on the iPhone: only from the app on the Home Screen, see Push. Check Settings → Notifications → Bellchain.
- Push on Android: allow notifications for Chrome, relax battery saving for Chrome.
- “Notifications are blocked for Bellchain”: allow them in the browser’s site settings and reload the page.
- Telegram: if you blocked the bot or deleted the chat, Bellchain disconnects it. Connect Telegram again. In groups and channels you must be an admin yourself.
- Email: check your spam folder, sender alerts@notify.bellchain.app. If the address says “waiting for confirmation”, “unsubscribed” or “blocked”, no alerts go there, see Email.
Messages in the editor
Section titled “Messages in the editor”| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| Doesn’t fit | The types don’t match. A condition belongs between a number and a signal, see Connecting pins. |
| Loop detected | The connection would create a loop. Chains only run in one direction. |
| Input missing | Connect a required input; in a draft this is only a note. |
| Invalid setting | Value out of range; fix it under “Properties”. |
| Test not possible | The chain has errors, listed under “Notes”. Or the server can’t be reached. |
| Only … of … warm-up candles | Old prices are missing for long indicators; early values in the test may differ. |
| No alert in 90 days | Maybe a threshold is too strict, see Tune until it fits. |
| Not saved: the browser blocks storage | Private mode or blocked site data. Use a normal window or sign in. |
| Conflict | The chain was changed in another window. Click it, then reload or keep your version. |
| Not ready to activate | The message names the reason, such as open inputs, no action, timeframe or plan limit. |
Sign-in problems
Section titled “Sign-in problems”- No email: check your spam folder. The sender is alerts@notify.bellchain.app.
- “We just sent you an email with a link and code”: there is at most one email per address and minute. Wait a moment, then Send a new code.
- Link or code expired or already used: both are valid for 15 minutes and work once together. Request a new one.
- “That code is not right”: use the code from the newest email. After five wrong tries it is locked; then Send a new code.
- Signed out in the app on your iPhone: sign in inside the app with the code from the email, not with the link. The link opens Safari. See Push on iPhone.
- “Signed out” in the editor: your session has expired. Sign in again; the editor saves your latest changes afterwards.
