ntfy, also from your own server

ntfy is a free push service: you subscribe to a topic in the ntfy app, and everything sent to that topic arrives as a notification on your devices. With the ntfy node, Bellchain sends alerts there, on ntfy.sh or on your own ntfy server. ntfy comes with the Pro plan and up.

  1. Install the ntfy app (Android, iPhone) or open your server’s web app.

  2. Subscribe to a topic with a name nobody guesses, such as bellchain-7Kq2xW9. Anyone who knows the name can read along.

  3. Only on ntfy.sh: create an account with a paid tier there and create an access token under Account (starts with tk_). Without a token, ntfy.sh does not work, see below.

  4. Drag the ntfy node onto the board in the editor, enter server, topic and, if needed, the token, and pick the priority.

ntfy.sh counts its free quota per IP address. All of Bellchain’s alerts come from the same address; without an account of your own, all Bellchain users would share 250 messages a day. With the token of an account with a paid tier, ntfy.sh counts your own quota. On your own ntfy server you only need a token if the topic is protected.

Priority Effect on the phone
Min no sound or vibration, only in the list
Low no sound, collapsed on some devices
Default sound and vibration like other apps
High long vibration and a pop-over notification
Max very long vibration; depending on the phone’s settings even in “Do Not Disturb”
  • Title: the chain’s name, with 🔔 in front (🧪 for test alerts).
  • Text: your message, the values when it fired, pair, timeframe and time.
  • Tapping opens the chain in Bellchain; the buttons Chart and Open on the exchange lead to the pair’s chart and to the trading page of the exchange from the candle.
  • Scanner: if several coins of a scanner fire at the same candle, one message lists them all, one line per coin; a tap opens Alerts filtered to the scanner.
