BTC rises to a new high of the last 20 hours, but more was sold than bought in those hours.

Idea

The volume delta counts buys minus sells per candle, by the side that triggered the trade. If BTC rises to a new high of the last 20 hours while more was sold than bought in those hours, the rise lacks the strength of buyers. Many traders read this as a warning of a turn down. The exchange reports the buy volume per candle; not every exchange has it.

Adapting it

• For the other side: “Bullish divergence” reports a new low at which more was bought than sold.
• With 50 candles the chain reports less often, but at bigger highs.
• “Strong selling” on a second action shows when the sellers get serious afterwards.

In the test

Replay with the sample prices up to October 17, 2026: 29 alerts in 90 days. With live prices the number differs. With Free the replay covers 15 days, with Pro and during the trial 90 days.
