Frequently asked questions
Is Bellchain investment advice?
Section titled “Is Bellchain investment advice?”No. Bellchain sends you the information you define yourself. We do not recommend buying or selling, don’t suggest chains based on your portfolio and never trade for you. The replay also only shows when a chain would have notified you, not whether a trade would have paid off.
Do I need API keys for my exchange?
Section titled “Do I need API keys for my exchange?”No. Bellchain brings its own price data. Bellchain has no access to your exchange account and doesn’t need it.
Which exchanges and coins are available?
Section titled “Which exchanges and coins are available?”Binance for now. You can enter any Binance trading pair, written with a slash, such as BTC/USDT, ETH/BTC or SOL/USDC. More exchanges are planned.
Which timeframes are available?
Section titled “Which timeframes are available?”Candles from 1 minute to 1 month: 1, 3, 5, 15 and 30 minutes, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours, 1 and 3 days, 1 week and 1 month. In the Free plan from 15 minutes, see Plans. All candles in a chain share the same timeframe.
When does Bellchain check my chain?
Section titled “When does Bellchain check my chain?”At every candle close of the timeframe, so on the hour for 1h candles. It calculates with the closed candle, not with intermediate prices. When a chain fires, the message goes out shortly afterwards.
Why didn’t I get a message when I activated the chain, although the condition was already true?
Section titled “Why didn’t I get a message when I activated the chain, although the condition was already true?”A chain only notifies you on a switch from false to true. If the condition is already true when you activate it, it notifies you once it has been false and becomes true again. That way you don’t immediately get a message about an old state. More under Testing with replay.
Do the indicators calculate like TradingView?
Section titled “Do the indicators calculate like TradingView?”Yes, with the same formulas as TradingView’s built-in functions, such as ta.rsi with Wilder smoothing or ta.ema seeded with the SMA. Small differences come from different price data (Binance instead of the source in your chart) and from the warm-up. How each node calculates is described in the node reference.
How many nodes may a chain have?
Section titled “How many nodes may a chain have?”As many as you like. Only active chains and the timeframe are limited per plan.
Do I need an account?
Section titled “Do I need an account?”Not for the editor and the replay. Without an account, chains stay in your browser. To make a chain active and get notified, you sign in with a link or code and no password. See Account.
Can I share chains?
Section titled “Can I share chains?”Yes. Export gives you the chain as JSON, Import creates a copy from it. See Board and nodes.
What does Bellchain cost?
Section titled “What does Bellchain cost?”Free is free forever. Every new account tries everything in Trader for 14 days, no credit card. See Plans and trial.
Where is my data stored?
Section titled “Where is my data stored?”Bellchain runs on servers in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The app and the docs load no fonts, scripts or trackers from third-party servers. Stored is what chains and notifications need: your address, chains, connected channels and the history of alerts.
