This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

Smoothed candles, a color change as a turn. Turns every candle into a smoothed Heikin Ashi candle: its close is the average of open, high, low and close, its open the middle of the Heikin Ashi candle before. In a trend the candles stay green or red for longer, single counter-candles weigh less. “Turns up” is true on the first green candle after a red one, “turns down” the other way round. The values are averages, not traded prices; for levels and stops use the candle itself. Example: Heikin Ashi turns up on 4-hour candles reports when the first green candle follows a series of red ones.

BTC/USDT candles and the same as Heikin AshiTop: the normal candles; below: the Heikin Ashi candles. They change color less often; the turns are shown below them.Price BTC/USDT82,00084,000Heikin Ashi82,00084,000turns upturns downOct 9Oct 10Oct 11Oct 12
  • green: close above open
  • red: close below open

The same 80 hours of BTC/USDT twice: on top as normal candles, below as Heikin Ashi. Because each Heikin Ashi candle starts at the middle of the previous one and averages its close from open, high, low and close, the colors stay the same for longer during a move. “Turns up” reports the first green candle after a red one.

Properties of the Heikin Ashi node: the chart with BTC/USDT candles (sample prices) and the close of the Heikin Ashi candles as a line, dots at the turns and the color of the Heikin Ashi candles as a strip below, below it the first fields.

In the properties, a chart shows the last 150 candles with the close of the Heikin Ashi candles as a line, dots at the turns and below them a strip in the color of each Heikin Ashi candle. The top line shows how long the last color has held. There is nothing to set.

More under Chart above the price.

No settings.

Notifies you of the first green Heikin Ashi candle after a red one: the smoothed move turns up.

  • In messages the values are called “HA close”, “HA open”, “HA high”, “HA low”.
  • Warm-up with the default settings: 50 candles (this many extra candles are loaded by the replay before the value is reliable).
  • Search also finds it under: heikin ashi, heikin-ashi, ha, candles, smoothed, trend, reversal, color change.

HA close = (open + high + low + close) / 4; HA open = (HA open + HA close of the candle before) / 2, on the first candle (open + close) / 2; HA high and HA low include HA open and HA close. Green: HA close above HA open, red below; candles without a body have no color and do not change the turn. The start no longer has an effect after 50 candles. The same calculation as the Heikin Ashi candles in TradingView.
