Shorts are paying, and open interest rises by more than 5 % within 24 hours: many new shorts, a squeeze upwards is more likely.

Idea

A negative funding rate means shorts are in the majority. If open interest rises at the same time, more shorts are joining. If the price then turns up, many have to buy back at once. AND only reports when both come together; funding and open interest take the coin of the candle.

Adapting it

• With “Then” and a price rising above the 24-hour high, the chain only reports once the squeeze starts.
• With a scanner the same chain runs over several coins; funding and open interest follow each coin.
