This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

Shows with a cloud where the trend goes. Sums up the trend in lines made from the high and low of the last candles. The conversion line shows the short-term trend, the base line the medium-term one. Span A and span B form the cloud: when the price is above it, the trend points up, below it down, inside the cloud it is undecided. Charts draw the cloud shifted forward; this node gives it at the current candle, the way it sits above that candle on the chart. Example: “Conversion line crosses above base line” together with “above the cloud” reports the classic signal for an uptrend. The lagging line is not an output, because it is drawn shifted into the past. Its rule “price above the price 25 candles ago” (the chart shifts it that far with displacement 26) is built with the Change % node: 25 candles back, above 0.

BTC/USDT with Ichimoku 9 · 26 · 52 · 26. The cloud sits at each candle the way the chart draws it shifted forward above that candle; the node does not look into the future for that. The strips show when the price closes above and when below the cloud, in between it is inside.

The settings appear on the right under “Properties” once you click the node on the board. Below each field you find the same explanation as here.

Default: 9 · from 1 to 500, whole number

How many candles the conversion line takes the high and low from. Usually 9.

Default: 26 · from 1 to 500, whole number

How many candles the base line takes the high and low from. Usually 26.

Default: 52 · from 1 to 500, whole number

How many candles span B covers, the slow edge of the cloud. Usually 52.

Default: 26 · from 1 to 500, whole number

How many candles the cloud is shifted forward, usually 26. The count starts at the current candle, so with 26 the cloud at a candle comes from the values 25 candles earlier. Almost everyone uses the defaults 9, 26, 52 and 26; you rarely need to change them.

The classic signal: the conversion line crosses above the base line while the price is above the cloud.

How to connect the nodes:

  1. Candle (Price) → Ichimoku (Price)
  2. Candle (High) → Ichimoku (High)
  3. Candle (Low) → Ichimoku (Low)
  4. Ichimoku (Conversion line) → Compare A/B (A)
  5. Ichimoku (Base line) → Compare A/B (B)
  6. Compare A/B (true/false) → AND (Signal 1)
  7. Ichimoku (above cloud) → AND (Signal 2)
  8. AND (all true) → Push (Trigger)

On the board it reads: 9 · 26 · 52 · 26

Conversion and base line as the midpoint of the highest high and lowest low over 9 and 26 candles, span A as the mean of both, span B as the midpoint over 52 candles, both delayed by displacement − 1 candles so they sit at the current candle; the same values as TradingView’s built-in Ichimoku Cloud indicator, which draws the cloud that many candles ahead.
