Stoch RSI

Indicators

  • Value
Stoch RSI

RSI 14 · 14 candles · 3 · 3

  • %K
  • %D
This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

Where the RSI sits in its range, 0–100. Applies the stochastic to the RSI: 0 means the RSI is at the low of the last candles, 100 at their high. This makes the Stoch RSI react much faster than the RSI itself and reach the extremes more often. Above 80 counts as overbought, below 20 as oversold. %K is the smoothed line, %D its average. Example: “%K crosses above %D” while %K is below 20 shows an early turning point after a pullback.

  • below 20 and above 80
  • %K crosses above %D, below 20
Top: the price; bottom: the Stoch RSI of the same 1-hour candles. It swings from one end to the other much more often than the RSI itself. At the dots %K crosses above %D while both are still below 20.

The settings appear on the right under “Properties” once you click the node on the board. Below each field you find the same explanation as here.

Default: 14 · from 2 to 100, whole number

How many candles the underlying RSI looks at. 14 is the usual value.

Default: 14 · from 2 to 200, whole number

How many candles the high and the low of the RSI are taken from. 14 is usual. Fewer candles make the line even faster and jumpier.

Default: 3 · from 1 to 50, whole number

How many candles %K is smoothed over, usually 3. With 1, %K often jumps back and forth between 0 and 100.

Default: 3 · from 1 to 50, whole number

How many candles %K is averaged over to form the %D signal line, usually 3. When %K crosses %D, the momentum turns.

An early turning point: %K crosses above %D while %K is still below 20.

Example chain: Candle, Stoch RSI, Compare A/B, Compare, AND, PushConnections: Candle → Stoch RSI, Stoch RSI → Compare A/B, Stoch RSI → Compare A/B, Stoch RSI → Compare, Compare A/B → AND, Compare → AND, AND → Push.CandleBTC/USDT · 1hStoch RSIRSI 14 · 14 candles · 3 · 3Compare A/BStoch RSI %K 14 crossesabove Stoch RSI %D 14CompareStoch RSI %K 14 below 20ANDall inputs truePushat most every 4 h

How to connect the nodes:

  1. Candle (Price) → Stoch RSI (Value)
  2. Stoch RSI (%K) → Compare A/B (A)
  3. Stoch RSI (%D) → Compare A/B (B)
  4. Stoch RSI (%K) → Compare (Value)
  5. Compare A/B (true/false) → AND (Signal 1)
  6. Compare (true/false) → AND (Signal 2)
  7. AND (all true) → Push (Trigger)

On the board it reads: RSI 14 · 14 candles · 3 · 3
