New high/low

Conditions

  • Value
New high/low

Price · 168 candles

  • new high
  • new low
This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

Highest or lowest value in N candles. True on every candle where the value is higher than on all candles before it in the chosen period, or lower than on all of them. That is how you report breakouts to a new high or low, for the price as well as for an indicator. Example: price into “new high” with 168 candles reports the highest close in a week on 1-hour candles.

  • Price (close of each candle)
  • highest close of the 20 candles before
  • lowest close before
  • new high or low
BTC/USDT with the highest and lowest close of the 20 candles before. When the price is above, it is a new 20-candle high; when below, a new low. In a rally this is true on several candles in a row; an alert only comes the first time, until the signal has been false again.

The settings appear on the right under “Properties” once you click the node on the board. Below each field you find the same explanation as here.

Default: 20 · from 1 to 1,000, whole number

How many candles before the value is compared with. 20 is usual; 168 is one week on 1-hour candles.

Notifies you when BTC reaches its highest close in a week on 1-hour candles.
