Naked POC

last 10 days

  • below

This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

POCs the price has not revisited. Remembers the POC of each session, the price with the most volume, as long as no later candle has reached it. Such naked POCs count as magnets: the price often returns to them later. The node gives the nearest one above and the nearest one below and reports the candle that reaches one. Example: if the POC from two days ago sits 1.2 % above the price and no candle has touched it since, the signal “reached” reports the moment BTC gets there. Only the POCs of the last sessions count, 10 by default.

  • reaches a naked POC
One week of BTC/USDT with the POCs of the last 10 days that the price has not reached since their day. The lines show the nearest one above and below; when a line ends, a candle reached it (dot) or it is older than 10 days.

The settings appear on the right under “Properties” once you click the node on the board. Below each field you find the same explanation as here.

Default: day

How long a session whose POC counts is: one day or one week from Monday.

  • day (default): One POC per calendar day. Usual with candles from 15 minutes to 1 hour.
  • week: One POC per calendar week, Monday to Sunday. Suits 1-hour and 4-hour candles.

Default: 10 · from 1 to 20, whole number

How many previous sessions POCs count from. With 10 days these are the POCs of the last week and a half; the node forgets older ones even if they are still naked.

Default: 50 · from 10 to 200, whole number · under “More”

How many levels of equal height a session’s range is split into, as in the Volume profile.

Default: UTC · IANA time zone such as Europe/Berlin, at most 64 characters · under “More”

The time zone in which the day, week and month begin. The default is UTC, like the exchanges’ daily candles; in Berlin that is 1:00 AM in winter and 2:00 AM in summer. With Europe/Berlin the day begins at midnight German time.

Notifies you when the price reaches a POC of the last 10 days that no candle has touched since its day.

How to connect the nodes:

  1. Candle (Price) → Naked POC (Price)
  2. Candle (High) → Naked POC (High)
  3. Candle (Low) → Naked POC (Low)
  4. Candle (Volume) → Naked POC (Volume)
  5. Naked POC (reached) → Telegram (Trigger)

On the board it reads: last 10 days

  • In messages the values are called “naked POC above”, “naked POC below”.
  • Warm-up with the default settings: 288 candles (this many extra candles are loaded by the replay before the value is reliable).
  • Search also finds it under: naked poc, untested, poc, volume profile, magnet, virgin poc, level.

POC per session as in the Volume profile node; from the first candle of the next session it counts as naked until a candle reaches it with low ≤ POC ≤ high. The POCs of the last N sessions count, so that no value depends on how far back the data reaches. Above and below refer to the candle’s close, after it has been checked.
