This is how the node looks on the board: inputs on the left, outputs on the right.

Remembers the price at a signal as a line. Remembers a value, usually the price, on the candle where the signal is true and passes it on as a horizontal line until the signal comes again. This lets you build rules that refer to the trigger: a return to the breakout price, a close back above the price at the last alert, 10 % below the price at the signal. “near” reports when the value comes back within ±x % of the line, from the candle after. Example: signal “price crosses above the 20-day high”, then “near ±1 %” reports the pullback to the breakout level.

BTC/USDT price; every dot is a breakout above the high of the previous 20 candles. Value at signal holds the close of that candle as a line until the next breakout comes. “near” is true from the candle after, as long as the price is inside the ±1 % band around the line: the pullback to the breakout level.

Properties of the Value at signal node: at the top the chart with the price of the last 150 candles, the remembered line as steps and the band ±1 % with two handles at the right edge, below it the Band ± field.

In the properties, a chart shows the last 150 candles with the Value at signal line and the band around it. Drag an edge or type the width; next to it you see how far the band reaches at the last candle. Dots mark where “near” would be true.

The settings appear on the right under “Properties” once you click the node on the board. Below each field you find the same explanation as here.

Default: 1 % · from 0 to 50 %

How close the value has to come to the line for “near” to be true, in percent of the line. 1 means 1 % above and below, so $800 at $80,000.

Remembers the price at the breakout above the high of the previous 20 candles. Telegram notifies you when the price later comes back within ±0.5 % of it.

How to connect the nodes:

  1. Candle (High) → High/Low (Value)
  2. Candle (Price) → Compare A/B (A)
  3. High/Low (High) → Compare A/B (B)
  4. Candle (Price) → Value at signal (Value)
  5. Compare A/B (true/false) → Value at signal (Signal)
  6. Value at signal (near) → Telegram (Trigger)

On the board it reads: near ±0.5 %

  • In messages the values are called “Value at signal”, “Distance to value at signal”.
  • Warm-up with the default settings: 500 candles (this many extra candles are loaded by the replay before the value is reliable).
  • Search also finds it under: value at signal, value when, remember, entry, breakout price, retest, pullback, level, valuewhen.

The value on the last candle where the signal was true, the current one included, like ta.valuewhen(signal, value, 0) in TradingView; for at most 500 candles. Distance = (value − line) / |line| · 100. “near” from the candle after the signal when |distance| ≤ x.
